Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya both wowed in Euphoria, so why are they treated so differently?

Since Euphoria first aired in 2019, the young ensemble cast has gone on to huge stardom.

Jacob Elordi has become a household name thanks to roles in Saltburn and Priscilla. Meanwhile, Hunter Schafer has secured a role in the latest instalment of the Hunger Games and Maude Apatow proved herself as more than just a nepo baby with a stellar performance in the show.

But the two biggest breakout stars from the show are undoubtedly Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, who have both gone on to huge box office success.

Both actresses,  aged 27 and 26 respectively, have been touted as the next Bond Girl. Both come from relatively humble beginnings, getting their first acting jobs in their youth to support their families. But while Zendaya has become a Gen Z It-girl, Sydney has been accused of being 'right-wing' and adopted by MAGA-America.

Both stars have proven their acting chops, Zendaya has also become a darling of the fashion world, racking up 184 million followers on Instagram, covering Vogue and sitting FROW at many fashion weeks.

Sydney, meanwhile, has said that designers won't let her adjust clothes to fit her breasts, leading to them often spilling out on the red carpet.

As Zendaya has gone down the It-girl route, also working as an ambassador and model for Louis Vuitton, Sydney is seen as a sexed-up girl next door, who has found herself in proactive ad campaigns and as a siren in a Rolling Stones video.

She has a deal with haircare brand Kerastase, while the American-right have claimed her double-D breasts can save the country from 'woke culture'. Something she herself doesn't understand.

Speaking yesterday, Zendaya said she 'doesn't know' when Euphoria will return for a third season. So as the actors await their fate, how do the careers of the two biggest stars stack up?

Both actresses are critically acclaimed...

Sydney recently came under fire when one of Hollywood's top producers, Carol Baum , whose films include Father of the Bride and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, slammed the star saying she 'isn't pretty and can't act'.

Baum, speaking with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin before an audience of fans following a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers starring Jeremy Irons , held nothing back as she began her critique of the 26-year-old actress.

'There's an actress who everybody loves now - Sydney Sweeney.

'I don't get Sydney Sweeney. I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney's movie because I wanted to watch it,' she says about Anyone But You.

'I wanted to know who she is and why everybody's talking about her,' she told Maslin and her audience.

'I watched this unwatchable movie- sorry to people who love this movie - [this] romantic comedy where they hate each other.'

Baum added: 'I said to my class, "Explain this girl to me. She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot?"'

'Nobody had an answer but then the question was asked, "Well if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?'

'I said, "Well that's a really good question...that's a very hard question to answer because we all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light?" Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made.'

Sydney's team have since responded to the criticism, calling it 'shameful'. Baum has since said she 'regrets the comments'.

'How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman.

'If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that’s shameful.

'To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms Baum’s character,' the team added.

Various critics have called the star 'charismatic' and a 'great actress'.

''In my view, Sydney is a remarkable actress with a significant screen presence that captivates audiences.

'She possesses a cinematic face that translates beautifully on film, embodying her characters with both grace and depth.

Her performances, whether in leading or supporting roles, consistently showcase her versatility and commitment to her craft,' John Baker, a film critic who makes Britflicks podcast told Femail.

Elsewhere, Ryan Toomey, film expert and editor at Upbeat Geek also told MailOnline that any flaws with her performances are unlikely to be due to 'a lack of talent'.

'While not every role Sydney takes will add to her growing collection of Emmys, her talent cannot be disputed, and her acting skills are quickly pinning her as Hollywood's new darling, able to garner the adoration of rom-com lovers, teen drama addicts, horror film buffs and even Tarantino fans alike,' he said.

'Perhaps most well-known for playing the messy and complicated Cassie in Europe, Sydney isn't a one-trick pony, and is slowly starting to show the depth of her acting and even producing chops, with a multi-Emmy award-winning role in The White Lotus, and a starring role in Immaculate, a horror movie she championed to get made.

'Her most recent role in Madame Web was admittedly not her best, but I believe that's down to poor direction and a bad script rather than her lack of talent - just look at Dakota Johnson who (minus her role in the 50 Shades series) is known for her pure acting talent, but fell flat in her role as the titular character. The same can be said for her part in the rom-com Anyone But You alongside Glenn Powell which, while fun, isn't a testament to the depth of her acting skill and shouldn't be her defining role.'

He added that 'some of the best actors in recent years have started with far less impressive careers than Sweeney, and many cut their teeth in rom-coms before going on to have their "big break"'.

'Take Matthew McConaughey who spent years as the go-to male love interest in any frothy romantic comedy to a well respected Oscar and Emmy award winner,' Ryan continued.

'Sydney is proof that a bad movie or TV show does not a bad actor make, and I think she has an amazing career ahead of her despite what Carol Baum thinks.'

Fans of the actress have taken to X to defend her - saying that she is indeed attractive, and suggesting Baum's comments stemmed from jealousy .

Sydney has also been compare to Marilyn Monroe, with some critics going as far as to say she could 'save Hollywood'.

Meanwhile Zendaya is also a darling of the critics.

Liz Duff, a Canadian red carpet reporter, dubbed her a 'once in a generation talent'.

The Independent's Adam White, said she is 'one of the finest young actors around' but has faced backlash for films that don't 'show off her talents'.

And what about award wins?

Neither of the young stars have reached Oscar status yet. But Zendaya has found acclaim on 30 under 30 lists and picked up two Emmys for her role in Euphoria.

Sydney has also been twice nominated for an Emmy, with roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus.

'Despite the movie-star wattage she radiates, movies have yet to grasp her potential. Promoting them? She’s fundamental. In them? Not so much. Instead, the only medium to use Zendaya to her fullest has been television, which has always been kindest to her,' he wrote.

For her upcoming flick, The Challengers, critics have said Zendaya is 'devastatingly cool' and 'aces the uproariously sexy tennis movie'.

The Telegraph praised he chemistry with her co-stars. 'Desire zings through almost every gesture,' they wrote.

The Times said she was 'faultless'. Meanwhile, her recent film, Dune 2, where she played Timothee Chalamet's love interest was also met by glorious applause.

Vulture said: 'Dune: Part Two isn’t his [Chalamet's] movie — it belongs firmly to Zendaya, who gives the second half of Denis Villeneuve’s Frank Herbert adaptation an emotional tangibility that the first, in all its exotic majesty, eschewed'.

Polygon said it's the 'best she has ever been on the big screen. Her performance feels like a coronation, but not a surprise'

But both  have faced trolling

While both have critical acclaim, the stars, like many young women in Hollywood, have faced trolling.

Speaking to Variety last year, the twice-Emmy nominated star Sydney said that a male actor with her CV would not face the same criticism she does.

'I'm still getting "Can she act?'' accusations. Go watch "Reality," '"White Lotus," "Euphoria," "Sharp Objects", "Handmaid's Tale" — but, OK, I'll keep trying to prove myself, and hope that one day I can get cast with an amazing director and have a film that people recognise,' she said.

A huge amount of discussion around the star, focuses on her body, rather than her acting ability.

Despite roles in various hit shows - including The Handmaid's Tale and Sharp Objects - before Euphoria, Sydney's big break was in the HBO show.

The show features Sydney in many nude scenes, but the focus, which led to her rampant sexualisation as well as attacks from trolls.

'There are hour-long compilations of world-famous male actors with nude scenes who win Oscars and get praised for that work. But the moment a woman does it, it degrades them,' Sydney told Cosmopolitan in 2022.

'They're not actresses. They just take off their tops so they can get a role. There's such a double standard and I really hope I can have a little part in changing that.'

'I'm so disconnected from it. When I get tagged in Cassie's or Pippa from The Voyeurs' nudes, it feels like me looking at their nudes, not Sydney's nudes

'When you film one of these scenes, it is so technical and so not romantic. There are people staring at you, there's pads between you, there are nipple covers and weird sticker thongs all up in your butt'.

Meanwhile Zendaya,  has also dealt with racist and sexist abuse.

The star was just 13 when she booked her first major role as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel's Shake It Up.

This meant she's faced attacks from internet trolls from a young age.

In 2015, when Zendaya was just 18, a troll posted a picture of her parents Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu, branding the pair 'ugly'.

'First I'm gonna pray for you,' the then teen star began. 'While you're so concerned about what my parents look like, please know that these are two of the most selfless people in the world.'

'They have chosen to spend their entire life, not worried about trivial things such as looks and insulting people's parents on Twitter, but instead became educators who have dedicated their lives to teaching, cultivating and filling young shallow minds. (One of the most important yet underpaid jobs we have).'

Zendaya also had some words of advice for the internet trolls: 'Please, log out, go to school, hug a teacher and read a textbook…and while you're at it, go look in the mirror and know that you too are beautiful, because such hateful things only stem from internal struggles. Bless you.'

It came after Giuliana Rancic, a TV presenter, made 'outrageously offensive' comments about the star at the 2015 Oscars.

Then aged just 18, the actress was seen sported dreadlocks  to the red carpet at the prestigious event, prompting Rancic to remark that her tresses looked like they 'smell like patchouli oil or weed'.

Speaking in 2021 about the comments, Zendaya told W magazine: 'That’s how change happens,'

'And it made me think, How could I always have a lasting impact on what people saw and associated with people of colour?'

Amid the furore, Mattel created a Zendaya-inspired Barbie doll, which wore a replica of her ivory dress sported at the Oscars – as well as the same hairstyle.

Back in 2015, Zendaya addressed Rancic's controversial comments, saying in a statement: 'There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful.

'Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.'

She added: 'To say that an 18-year-old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or "weed" is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive.

'I don’t usually feel the need to respond to negative things but certain remarks cannot go unchecked.'

Rancic later apologised, tweeting: 'I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!'

While Zendaya said she appreciated Rancic's apology for saying her dreadlocks must have smelt of 'weed' and 'patchouli oil', she criticised the nature of Fashion Police.

'Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done,' Zendaya said in a statement, adding that she was 'glad' it was a learning experience for Rancic and the E! Network.

Tee-total

As is in Vogue with Ge Z, both stars don't drink.

But Sydney revealed to WSJ Magazine for their My Monday Morning series that she only needs two hours a sleep at night and also doesn't drink coffee.

'I sleep however many hours I get in a night, but I'm known for being able to function off of very, very little for a very long amount of time,' she admitted.

The star also has never tried coffee, preferring to only drink water.

The Anyone But You actress said: 'I've never tried coffee before. I just drink water. For breakfast, I like a berry bowl. Maybe some granola, bacon, a croissant, but I always go to berries.'

Zendaya added in her statement: 'Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well.'

She continued: 'From a quote we all know by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out have; only love can do that." Let’s be that light and spread that love.'

Zendaya also revealed that she had initially planned to respond to Rancic's comments in an angry manner, before thinking better of it.

'Instead, I sat for two hours on my phone, doing my research and formulating an educated response,' she said.

In the immediate aftermath of Rancic's comments, Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne sensationally quit the E! show.

Giuliana would make a statement on air about her comments, saying: 'I'd really like to address something that's weighing really heavy on my heart. I want to apologise for a comment that I made on last night's Fashion Police about Zendaya's hair.'

'As you know, Fashion Police is a show that pokes fun at celebrities in good spirit, but I do realise that something I said last night did cross the line.'

'I just want everyone to know that I didn't intend to hurt anybody, but I learned it's not my intent that matters,' Rancic continued. 'It's the result. And the result is people are offended, including Zendaya. And that is not okay.'

'Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I hurt, that I'm so sincerely sorry,' she concluded. 'This really has been a learning experience for me.

'I learned a lot today and this incident has taught me to be a lot more aware of cliches and stereotypes, and how much damage they can do. And that I am responsible, as we all are, to not perpetuate them further. Thank you for listening.'

Neither Zendaya nor Sydney have been particularly vocal on political issues, with Zendaya calling herself 'just an actress, not an activist' and Sydney not revealing where he allegiances lie.

Sydney however has been embraced by the American Right, regardless of where her alliances lie.

In perhaps the most bizarre comments on her body, right-wing commentators have declared her breasts 'the death of woke'.

Both child stars were their  family's breadwinner at an early age

Sweeney got her start in Hollywood guest starring on many television shows including Criminal Minds, 90210, Kickin' It, and Grey's Anatomy.

Sweeney began acting at 12. The following year her family moved to LA, supporting her Hollywood dreams. Money was tight. 'We lived in one room,' she recalls. 'My mum and I shared a bed and my dad and little brother shared a sofa.' Financial aid helped pay for her schooling and university. Yet Sweeney struggled to find acting roles and her parents divorced, filing for bankruptcy.

'When I turned 18, I only had $800 to my name,' she says. 'My parents weren't back together and there was nothing I could do to help.'

At the start of her career, she also made appearances in movies Angels in Stardust, Vikes, and Dead Ant.

In 2017, Sweeney was in the television show In the Vault which lasted one season.

Shortly after in 2018, she played Emaline in the Netflix TV show Everything Sucks! The show followed a group of high school kids in the 90s in Oregon.

The 10-episode series parodied the teen culture of the 1990s. Set in the real life town of Boring, Oregon, it centered on a group of students at Boring High School.

The plot centered around the friction between the A/V Club and the Drama Club.

Netflix cancelled the series after one season, but Sydney was the breakout star of Everything Sucks! and on her way to the stardom she enjoys today.

She made several small appearances in 90210 which starred the likes of Matt Lanter, AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes.

She was also was in one episode of Grey's Anatomy during Season 11 of the popular TV show.

She was a guest star on an episode called Don't Let's Start in 2014 where she played Erin Weaver.

Zendaya recently opened up about her 'complicated feelings' about growing up in the public eye since getting cast as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up.

When asked what her career goals were growing up during an interview with Vogue, the Euphoria star admitted that she finds the question a bit 'funny' as 'it's something that' she's still trying to figure out now.

'I don't know how much of a choice I had. I have complicated feelings about kids and fame and being in the public eye, or being a child actor,' she explained. 'We've seen a lot of cases of it being detrimental.'

As an adult, she said she has found herself thinking: 'Oh, okay, wait a minute: I've only ever done what I've known, and this [acting] is all I've known.'

'I'm almost going through my angsty teenager phase now, because I didn't really have the time to do it before,' she mused.

While looking back at her adolescence, Zendaya said: 'I felt like I was thrust into a very adult position: I was becoming the breadwinner of my family very early.'

'There was a lot of role-reversal happening, and just kind of becoming grown, really,' she noted.

In the US, Republicans have made her the poster girl of a cultural shift away from political correctness, an incredulous headline in one of Canada 's biggest newspapers, the National Post, asked: 'Are Sydney Sweeney's breasts double-D harbingers of the death of woke?'

The Spectator , meanwhile, said that Sydney showed a 'return to real body postivity'.

'It was the 1990s and early 2000s. We had Pamela Anderson and Baywatch. Jennifer Love Hewitt graced the cover of Maxim with her boobs. Our supermodels – like Tyra Banks and Cindy Crawford – had curves,' write Bridget Phestasy said.

Countering the point, Tayo Bero wrote for the Guardian : 'Ogling Sweeney also isn't the revolutionary act that conservatives desperately want it to be, seeing as society's obsession with skinny, blonde, large-breasted women never went anywhere.'

The question was flung like a hand grenade into the cultural debate after Sweeney appeared on America's prestigious comedy TV show Saturday Night Live last month in sketches that focused on her body, parodying stereotypes about her highly sexualised appearance.

According to National Post comment writer Amy Hamm: 'We've spent years being chastised for desiring or admiring beauty – because beauty is rare and exclusionary, and to exclude is to hate – or so we've been scolded to accept by today's diversity, equity, and inclusion fanatics. We aren't supposed to admire Sweeney's beauty; but we've done it anyways. The times, they are a-changin'.'

Sweeney herself claims to be mystified at becoming the living embodiment of this political crusade, saying: 'I don't know how to explain it – I'm still trying to figure it out myself.'

Her body, and what it represents, is a hot topic of discussion from Washington DC's corridors of power to Hollywood's studio backlots. 'People forget that I'm playing a character,' she told The Hollywood Reporter. 'They think: 'Oh, she gets naked on screen, she's a sex symbol.' And I can't get past that.'

Her father, Steven, a hospitality professional, moved to a remote ranch in Mexico without internet or mobile phone service. He was shocked by his daughter's graphic sex scenes when he first watched Euphoria. 'My dad and grandpa turned it off and walked out,' Sweeney admits.

She remained in LA with her mother, Lisa, a former criminal defence lawyer who quit to care for Sydney and younger brother Trent. With her recent success, Sweeney paid off her mother's mortgage. 'My parents sacrificed so much to support my dream and they lost so much during it,' she says. 'I felt a responsibility to show them that it was worth it.' Sweeney found fame and Emmy nominations with White Lotus and Euphoria, but her family's politics proved a distraction.

When Lisa celebrated her 60th birthday in 2022, critics focused on guests wearing what appeared to be Blue Lives Matter attire – a pro-police counterpoint to the Black Lives Matter campaign – and Make America Great Again-styled red baseball caps reading 'Make Sixty Great Again'.

It hardly mattered that Sweeney has no stated political leanings. It proved a dog whistle to the American Right, who have embraced her.

Sydney has previously detailed how she grew up in a religious family, but doesn't practice any particular faith herself, saying in an interview: 'I came from a religious family but I'm open to all religions.'

She also previously shared that due to her parents' conservative views, she nearly turned down her breakout part in Euphoria due to his graphic nature.

In 2021 she said: 'What's crazy, and this is going to sound really bad — is when I first got sent the audition, I was too nervous to go do it.

'I grew up in a smaller town with my family, who are a little more conservative, and I was like, ''They're going to kill me if I do something like this.''

Her family were also hit by a 'wildfire' of controversy when she posted snaps of her mother's birthday party guests wearing MAGA-inspired hats.

She was accused of being 'right-wing' when she shared snaps which featured a male guest wearing what appeared to be a Blue Lives Matter shirt - and others wearing MAGA parody hats at the Spokane, Washington event.

The Euphoria star told British GQ : 'Honestly I feel like nothing I say can help the conversation. It's been turning into a wildfire and nothing I can say will take it back to the correct track.'

In August Sweeney slammed 'absurd' claims regarding her family's political ties when fans accused the actress of being right-wing.

She said on social media: 'You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention.

'Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ❤️ and Happy Birthday Mom!' she concluded.

Unlike many celebrities, Zendaya doesn’t shy away from talking about race and social injustice. ‘I’m grateful for my peers, but I would love to see more that look a little bit more like me around me,’ she tells Vogue in this month’s issue. ‘I think that is something that is crucial.’

Zendaya has said she tries to be as 'vocal as I can, especially when it comes to election time' regarding politics, but refuses to call herself an activist saying she 'doesn't deserve the title'.

She's also been vocal about the Black Lives Matter movement and more representation in Hollywood.

Speaking at the Beautycon Festival in 2018, she said colourism was an issue in Hollywood and that she was 'an acceptable version of a black girl'.

'As a light-skinned black woman it's important that I'm using my privilege, my platform, to show you how much beauty there is in the African-American community.

In 2016, she told Cosmopolitan magazine it was important for her to understand her 'privilege' as a light-skinned black woman.

'Unfortunately, I have a bit of a privilege compared to my darker sisters and brothers,' she said.

'Can I honestly say that I've had to face the same racism and struggles as a woman with darker skin? No, I cannot.'

Zendaya has had a widely publicised romance after she started dating Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

Meanwhile, Sydney's is less well-known. The star is engaged to Chicago businessman Jonathan Davino.

While Jonathan isn't in showbusiness, he has produced films alongside Sydney, including Anyone But You.

Many details about Jonathan have been kept tightly under wraps by Sydney who likes to keep her romance very private.

She told Glamour that even though people were always curious about her relationship, it was important that she had something for herself.

It is thought that the businessman resides in Chicago, as the blonde bombshell quipped in several interviews that she was making the move to the Windy City for a 'friend'.

Jonathon reportedly belongs to a family which owns the device technology and packaging companies Final Bell and 14th Round, according to TMZ .

He was previously alleged to be the owner of a couple Chicago restaurants, including Pompei Xpress and Mista Pizza - both of which have now shuttered.

Zendaya's films have eclipsed $2billion at the box office

While both stars have commendable box office revenue, thanks to her roles in the Spider-Man franchise and Dune, Zendaya's raked in more at the Box Office.

Films in which Zendaya has a starring role, including all three Spider-Man hits, Dune 1 and 2, and  The Greatest Showman have racked in $2.3billion.

Meanwhile Sydney - who has focused more on TV hits and streaming movies - has a respectable  $235million.

Her biggest film is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, directed by Tarantino. Zendaya is yet to work with an A-list director.

However, Sydney quickly put those rumours to rest in an interview with Glamour in December 2023.

She told the publication: 'He’s not a restaurateur. I have no idea where that came from. He’s also not the heir of a pizza company.

'He’s a business guy. He’s from Chicago. We’ve been watching [this narrative] for six years now and I’m like, "What the hell?"'

Sydney has been incredibly private about her relationship with Davino (pictured 2019), and even though the pair are engaged, she is no rush to plan their wedding

Jonathan reportedly belongs to a family which owns the device technology and packaging company, Final Bell and 14th Round. He also is Sydney's producing partner (pictured left 2022: Jonathon, pictured right: Sydney)

The duo first ignited rumours of their relationship when they were seen together as several parties, such as an InStyle and a Kate Spade dinner party, as well as a 2018 Hulu Emmy Party.

In 2019, the lovebirds were seen on another outing that was a bit more sporty, enjoying a New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden.

The secretive couple were spotted again the year after, enjoying the Hawaiian sunshine in Maui in November.

It was confirmed by People in 2022 that Jonathon had popped the question after the starlet was seen with a huge rock on her finger.

In a discussion with Entertainment Tonight , the White Lotus star revealed that she had been too 'busy' to plan her nuptials just yet.

Although wedding bells may be far off, the actress has admitted to having had a Pinterest board prepared for the day ever since she was 10, which Jonathan has never seen.

The starlet has also been very open about her desire to have four children with her partner.

She revealed to Glamour that she often dreams of teaching her future children to ski, taking them on hikes and 'living through their imagination', quipping that it's something she really 'look[s] forward to'.

Jonathan and Sydney have even ventured beyond a romantic relationship and have gone into business together.

Although, Jonathan had never worked in the film industry prior to his relationship with Sydney, he now often produces films alongside the starlet.

He was even a producer of her most recent and controversial rom-com Anyone But You with Glen Powell.

Sydney expressed how it was 'really great' to work with an individual who is so familiar with you and supports your visions.

She added: 'I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time?'

Reflecting on her relationship with Cosmopolitan in February 2022, Sydney reflected that she avoids dating those 'in the spotlight'.

'I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest.

'I have a great support system. I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, Oh no, I'm shining too bright and I need to step back.'

Meanwhile, Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spiderman: Homecoming in 2017, but predominantly keep their relationship out of the public eye.

Speaking about her relationship, she said: 'We were both very, very young, but my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight

'I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.'

Zendaya also revealed that she has also considered the prospect of starting a family in the public eye, admitting she doesn't want her future children to 'have to deal with her fame.'

She said: 'It's a matter of sustainability, how she can continue to make this demanding business that she loves so dearly work for her.

'Because I don't necessarily want my kids to have to deal with this [fame]''... and what does my future look like? Am I going to be a public-facing person forever?'

Discussing her fame, she added: 'You just kind of get used to the fact that, ''Oh, I'm also one of these art pieces you're going to take a picture of.'' I just gotta be totally cool with it and just live my life.'

'I think growing up, I always felt like when someone asks for a picture, I have to do it, all the time. You have to say yes, because you just need to be grateful that you're here.

'And while I still feel that way, I also have learnt that I can say no, and I can say kindly that I'm having a day off, or I'm just trying to be myself today, and I don't actually have to perform all the time.'

Zendaya went onto add: 'Now, when I have these moments in my career – like, my first time leading a film that's actually going to be in a theatre – I feel like I shrink, I can't enjoy all the things that are happening to me, because I'm like this,' before balling up her fists.

'I'm very tense, and I think that I carry that from being a kid and never really having an opportunity to try s**t. And I wish I went to school.'

Hoping for a quiet life away from the Hollywood spotlight.

The couple recently purchased a  £3million home in London's upmarket Richmond, not far from Tom's parents in Kingston.

The pair have been spotted shopping at Watirose in the celeb-loved suburb, as well as walking Tom's dogs in the park.

Zendaya is praised for red carpet style, while Sydney says designers won't make clothes that fit her...

The conversation around Sydney's body has also translated off-screen, with some attacking her for red carpet looks that often show a lot of cleavage.

Sydney claims this is because designers won't make clothes that fit over her breasts, leading to them spill out.

''I'm always so appreciative to both Miu Miu and Armani because they will remake dresses for my boobs. And a lot of times, when I see trolls online slamming me, or whoever is styling me for things that don't fit my boobs, it's because it's samples,' she told Glamour UK.

She added she's often 'forced to fit in something that doesn't fit me and it won't look right'

'So whenever I get to wear Miu Miu, Armani, or when a brand is letting me reconstruct the top or rebuild it or alter something, that's when it looks better,' she continued. 'That's when you see I look more confident and happy on the carpet as well.'

She added to Variety that she 'can't allow herself to have a reaction' to discussions around her body.

'People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I've signed my life away. That I'm not on a human level anymore, because I'm an actor.

'That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore. It's this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over,' she said.

But this isn't her first rodeo in method dressing. The superstar picked the same approach to promote the Dune and Spider-Man movies.
